Water Rangers Program

CPAWS Water Rangers Education Program

Water related issues are probably the biggest factor facing Albertan’s future. Our new Water Rangers Education Program is a fun and unique way to teach student the Science (Weather/Water/Wetlands) and Social Studies (Geography of Canada/Stewardship/Waste in our World) Curriculum. The program takes a watershed approach, and uses drama, demos, hands-on activities, audio technology and inquiry to educate about water related issues and solutions throughout Alberta. Following a storyline with various aquatic creatures, students work to become Water Rangers, investigating multiple water issues, and brainstorming solutions to solve Alberta’s water concerns.

This is a two visit program, where students are encouraged to investigate solutions and take part in water conservation and stewardship projects between the two classroom visits. A Water Rangers Action Field Journal for each student, as well as a teacher’s guide and other resources are included as part of this program.

Program costs range from $75 to $65 (Cdn)/class/visit (plus GST) based on the number of classes booked.
